After the fire
painting
60 cm H x 60 cm W

‘From Channel Country to Mt.Murchison near Wilcannia in the violet dusk and indigo blackness of night; the coolness of the dusty breeze in the dark – hints of green after a rare sprinkling of rain; to the surreal Pink Lakes in Victoria and their murky not quite wetness and their dirty pink salt – the lakes, ponds, sort of hovering in the pervasive pink greyness of the dry scrub … and finally home. The fire trucks in the main street overnight - the fires in the east. Maybe we’ll have to leave …’
